The shiny happy people of South Wales have delivered a blow to Michael Stipe's mighty beak but turning out in their droves to not buy tickets for REM's forthcoming Millennium Stadium concert.
Promoters Live Nation have been forced to move the concert from the Stadium to the 7,500 seater Cardiff International Arena across the town, though they refused to confirm that poor tickets sales were the reason for the switch.
The concert takes place on August 25th, with Editors and Guillemots as support. And they wonder why tickets aren't selling?
Here's how busy it was when REM last played the Millennium Stadium:

White Lies
Kelman
Throbbing Gristle

They've been lost the fans they picked up with Out of Time and Automatic for the People years ago, and should have realised this by now. It's no bad thing, nothing worse than watching matchstick men from row Z. 7,500 capacity sounds great to me!
