Cat Power is to release yet more cover versions into the world with a new EP, due in December.
The Dark End Of The Street will come out via Matador on a very nicely packaged 10" gatefold sleeve, and features tracks by the likes of the Pogues and Otis Reading and so on:

The Creedence song is actually called Fortunate Son. Cat Power played it during her last London dates.

"Fortunate son" isn't hers to cover. Nor is it mine, for the record. She's had every advantage possible in the record industry. Without her parents and associated contacts she could well be begging on the sidewalk somewhere. I like a lot of her stuff but wont seek this out.. get real Chan!

It's not a Pogues song you peasant. Brandan 'Borstal Boy' Behan wrote it and The Dubliners did it first.
