Joni Mitchell Archival Series To Continue With ‘Asylum Albums’

Featuring remastered versions of four of Mitchell's albums, the announcement follows her recent surprise appearance at Newport Folk Festival

Details of the next instalment in the ongoing archival series of Joni Mitchell reissues have been revealed with Asylum Albums (1972-1975) set for release in September.

The release – which will be made available in 4xCD and 5xLP editions, as well as across digital formats – includes remastered versions of four of Mitchell’s albums: 1972’s For The Roses, 1974’s Court And Spark, live album Miles Of Aisles from 1974, and 1975’s The Hissing Of Summer Lawns. You can listen to the remastered ‘You Turn Me On I’m a Radio’ from For The Roses above.

Asylum Albums (1972-1975) charts the start of Mitchell’s seven-year affiliation with Asylum Records, having previously worked with Reprise Records. Her partnership with Asylum came to an end in 1979 with the release of Mingus, a collaboration with Charles Mingus. The forthcoming box set is the third instalment of the Mitchell archival series, following The Early Years (1963-1967) and The Reprise Years (1968-1971).

Rhino Records will release Asylum Albums (1972-1975) on September 23, 2022.
