Can Live Album Series Continues With 1975 Brighton Recording

The live recording is split across seven sections

Mute has shared details of the second release in its series of Can live albums.

Due out in December, the second instalment in the series captures a recording from a 1975 show in Brighton. The recording, which is split into seven sections, includes a rare Michael Karoli vocal on ‘Brighton 75 Drei’, as well as a drum lead from Jaki Liebezeit on ‘Brighton 75 Vier’. Sleeve notes for the release are written by Can biographer, author and editor Rob Young and British journalist Kris Needs, with the live album set to be made available on limited edition triple gold vinyl and double CD. You can listen to an excerpt from the album’s closing piece, ‘Brighton 75 Sieben’, above.

The Can live series, launched in May of this year with a 1975 Stuttgrart recording, sees a number of bootlegged recordings of the band’s shows given the remaster treatment, overseen by founding member Irmin Schmidt and producer/engineer Rene Tinner.

Mute will release Live In Brighton 1975 on December 3, 2021.
