Tresor To Mark 30th Anniversary With Series Of Reissues

The Berlin techno institution will also release a vinyl box set and book later this year

Berlin club and record label Tresor is marking its 30th anniversary with a series of rare reissues and more this year.

Kicking off the celebrations in May, Tresor will reissue a self-titled album by 3MB (consisting of Moritz von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann) and Juan Atkins, which originally came out in 1992. The album was a key release in bringing the techno of Detroit together with Berlin styles in the early ’90s, with Atkins and von Oswald since collaborating on a number of projects.

With clubs still closed in Berlin, and no sign of reopening plans soon in the city, Tresor’s label is taking centre stage in the 30th anniversary plans. Next month, on April 7, the Berlin techno institution will further reveal details of a special box set featuring music by veteran label artists and new talent.

Other reissues will follow later in the year, while there is also a book in the works, taking in previously unseen photos, personal letters, flyers and other ephemera from Tresor’s three decades to date.

Tresor will release 3MB Feat. Magic Juan Atkins on May 28, 2021.
