One of Brazil’s best and most bracing bands DEAFKIDS have had their extraordinary most recent album released in physical form for the first time.
To celebrate, and to trail a full-length interview here at tQ next week, the three-piece have sent us some Satanic personal footage, along with a recommendation to watch it in the dark and with headphones.
Say the band of their blood-curdling new clip: "The idea behind this video is a more crude and literal imagery of the interferences of the forces of evil both inward and outward who guides us through our darkest paths throughout our personal and social life. Programmed, perpetuated and propagated by the mechanisms of power and fear and by the negative roots of permanent dystopia that we live in."
Configuração do Lamento is the band’s seventh LP in as many years, and was the latest in a string of prolific Brazilian releases last year. Newly discovered by Neurosis’ Steve von Till and signed to his Neurot label, the album has just been re-released on 10" vinyl, for which we must be truly thankful.
