Newly signed to Upset The Rhythm, Sauna Youth have announced their second album, entitled Distractions, the follow-up to 2012’s debut, Dreamlands. As a precursor to its release, tQ is very happy to serve up the premiere of album track ‘Transmitters’ above.

The track finds the four-piece refining the sounds found on their debut, but still remaining very much in the DIY vein of previous material. The announcement of Distractions follows the band’s appearance, by personal invitation, at Wire’s DRILL festival in Brighton back in December. The album is out on June 8 and ahead of that, Sauna Youth will play Sounds from the Other City in Salford on May 3 – all the details for that are here. Plans for a European and US tour are also in the works as well as a split 7" between Sauna Youth and Monotony – both bands comprising the same members, including Jen Calleja, author of Quietus Books’ literature in translation column Verfreundungseffekt – in the run-up to the album’s release. For now, you can pre-order Distractions here.
