James Blake Wins 2013 Mercury Prize

London electronic artist takes home prize for Overgrown

James Blake has been announced as the winner of the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize at tonight’s ceremony at the Roundhouse in London. Blake won the £20,000 prize for his second album Overgrown, fighting off competition from a 12-strong shortlist, which included records from David Bowie, Foals and Jon Hopkins.
