LISTEN: Trevor De Brauw’s ‘Don’t Be An Asshole’ Dronegaze

Fans of Pelican, Tusk, Chord and Teith will be pleased to know that hard-working post-metaller Trevor de Brauw has given us an excellent live recording to share with you.

De Brauw has been creating dream sludge drones in his home studio for the last decade, often releasing them on CD-R. He has recently moved into performing them live, and this track, ‘Don’t Be An Asshole’ – a work in progress – was performed at Chicago’s Empty Bottle venue on March 26 of this year.

Nodding to everyone from Growing to Blanck Mass to Barn Owl to Aidan Baker, this piece shifts almost imperceptibly from second to second, but moves through drone metal, shoegaze and trancelike, euphoric noise.

Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
