PJ Harvey Releases Let England Shake DVD

DVD contains a short film to accompany each of the 12 tracks on Harvey's excellent latest album

Island Records is to release a DVD version of PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake on December 12th, containing 12 short films by award-winning war reportage photographer Seamus Murphy. With one film to accompany each track, it promises to offer a visual counterpart to Harvey’s eighth album, already steeped in imagery of war and conflict.

To create the films, Murphy travelled across England, combining his footage with images from his time spent in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The DVD also includes a second, previously unreleased film for the track ‘England’, and notes from Murphy on each film.

Let England Shake is one of our favourite albums of this year, and won the Mercury Prize this year, making Harvey the first to receive the award twice (her first was for 2001’s Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea). Click here to read our review of Let England Shake.
