Jamie T Not Into Politics

Singer will stick to tales of everyday life

UK politics may be in the gutter, but singer-songwriter Jamie T will not be using the recession or MPs expenses scandal for inspiration.

Speaking to our good friends at The Stool Pigeon, Jamie, who releases new EP Sticks and Stones on June 29, said: "I don’t talk about politics because I don’t know what I’m talking about."

But Jamie did insist that, although his new material will be draw heavily upon his personal experiences, it won’t just be about lager-fuelled scuffles and romances.

"It’s sad to think that people think that’s all it is. I’ve got a wider perspective than that", he said. "I think it’s more important to know how you feel about a situation than to know what you’re fucking talking about.

"Your daily life comes from a lot of things – a lot of things can affect you – and I don’t think my life is just about beer, fights and cigarettes."
