The Quietus Backing The Horrors For Mercury Prize

But Little Boots and Doves are 5-1 joint favourites with bookies

They may not be odds-on to win this year’s Mercury Music Prize, but The Quietus is backing their own favourites The Horrors to clinch this year’s award.

The goth spitting, shoegazing rockers are 20-1 with Ladbrokes with their second album Primary Colours, some way behind Hands by Little Boots and Kingdom of Rust by Doves which are both 5-1, and Two Suns by Bat for Lashes at 6-1.

Outside bets, meanwhile, are Journal For Plague Lovers by Manic Street Preachers and Years of Refusal by Morrissey which are both 50-1.
